The ups and downs of getting published

A couple of days ago I was on cloud 9 because my book was to be published. Today, I have fallen to cloud ‘6’, but not yet tumbled to cloud ‘2’ or plummeted back to earth. Just so many decisions to make, and I have decided that if I pay anyone to publish my book – I will self-publish. I still have so much to learn. I really have come in contact with really informative folks and friendly too. Everyone is so eager to help and encourage. Thanks for that. After teaching a full day of rowdy 8th graders, one who thinks Paris is a state, and tutoring reading for an hour after school (which I love), I am wiped out when finally getting home to re-think things. I just keep saying…Ican, I will, I want to! I stay up until about 1 a.m. either writing or trying to promote my Kickstarter project, which is moving rather slowly; but I still seem to revive myself for the next day and go forward. I do look forward to evenings when all is silent, and I can read, write, think, laugh, and explore.

Welcome to my blog. Kick off your shoes and unwind. I am new at this, but learning quickly. Would love to hear about the books, articles, or essays you have written. How did you break into the "business?" Is there hope for those of use who haven't tapped that market?
